Back-to-Back in the Showdown: Sorrie not Sorry

Austin Sorrie didn't let up following last week's weekly win in the Catch Driver Showdown, hitting the board in 6 of his 8 drives this week. In the season long leaderbaord, he pulled ahead to a 40 point lead over 2nd place driver Brett MacDonald.

Sorrie had 1 win, 4 seconds, and 1 third place finish on the day (0.444 UDRS). His big score in the showdown came in race 2 when he finished 2nd on #8 Dominum Deo at 29-1.

Brett MacDonald put up 3 wins and a third on the day, including an 11-1 upset aboard #2 Eas Ideal in the 9th race. His hat-trick was good for 58.9 points in total, enough to finish 2nd place for the week, and move up to 2nd place in the overall season standings.

Stephen Davis won on his lone drive for the afternoon #1 Reis Star Cross in the 8th race at 14-1. The win was enough for him to finish 3rd place for the weekly challenge.

Daryl Thiessen had a productive afternoon, scoring a win and a second place finish from 5 drives. He finishes 4th for the week, but more importantly climbs from 10th place overall up to 7th.

Ryan Holliday had 2 wins and a second. With both wins being heavily bet favourites, he had to settle for 23.7 points for his efforts. Ryan currently sits in 5th place overall with 119.2 points, trailing leader Austin Sorrie by 85 points.

Jason Ryan had a win and a third from 7 drives. He slipped from 3rd overall, but the 22 point performance was enough for him to hang on to 4th in the season standings.

Doug McNair had a win, a second, and a third from 6 drives. For the first time this season Doug put up below 30 points for the week with only 21. He still hangs on to 6th place in the overall standings.

The weekly winner, Austin Sorrie, is awarded a Ritter stopwatch, a $50 Esso gift card, and a Catch Driver T-Shirt. Drivers score points based on the $2 Win, Place, and Show payouts for every horse they drive.

The season champion will receive a sponsorship offer from Catch Driver that includes a brand new custom helmet. Should the winning driver choose to accept the offer, they will represent Catch Driver and The Farm Games, and receive other perks including a product allowance, branding and design from our team, promotion and more.
